Apprentice Technician

Apprentice Technician
The best candidate for this position is someone with 1-2 years of automotive experience in a professional shop or training at an automotive school program at the High School or College level. This candidate should have:

Automotive Technician

Automotive Technician
The best candidate for this position is someone with 1-2 years of automotive experience in a professional shop or training at an automotive school program at the High School or College level. This candidate should have:

- Strong aptitude for working with computers and new technology
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- At least 4 years of automotive experience in a professional shop
- ASE Certifications are preferred
- Your own tools are required
- Diesel repair and maintenance experience is a bonus
- Must be able to document and communicate detailed descriptions of diagnostics and repairs
- Must be able to diagnose, maintain, and repair multiple vehicle systems, including Engine, Transmission, Electrical, Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Air Conditioning, etc.
What you will be doing as an Experienced Automotive Technician:
- Digital Vehicle Inspections
- General automotive maintenance and repair
- Wheel alignments
- Steering and suspension repair
- Brake system repair
- Diagnose computer systems, including ABS, Airbag, and Engine controls
- Fuel system diagnosis and repair
- Transmission, transfer case, and differential diagnosis and repair
- Cooling system diagnosis and repair
- Air conditioning diagnosis and repair
- Electrical diagnosis and repair
- Continuing education is important at V&F Auto. All our technicians, service advisors, and leaders are required to take 32 hours per year of paid continuing education training.

What you will be doing as a service advisor:
- Continuous communication with our customers before, during, and after the service
- Gathering information from customers and communicating their concerns to the technicians
- Communicating technician findings with our customers in a concise, informative manner
- Educating customers on the features and benefits of preventative maintenance
- Generating repair and maintenance estimates for parts and labor
- Answering phones and scheduling reservations
- Participating in continuing education
- Contacting vendors and ordering parts
- Creating invoices and taking payments
- Working with technicians to coordinate the flow of vehicles through the shop
State Inspector

State Inspector
This position is for someone who likes to stay busy! As our dedicated State Inspector, we will also lean on you to help keep the shop running smoothly. Perform Massachusetts State Inspections in a diligent, efficient manner. Inspect the vehicles thoroughly to ensure vehicles are up to par and safe. In addition, State Inspectors should assist around the shop by maintaining the facility while keeping it clean and safe. This position also is responsible for lending a helping hand to technicians when needed.
