A Drive In Movie Theater Is Coming To West Springfield!
In case you missed it… a drive-in movie theater is coming to West Springfield! Here’s everything you need to know about the Big E’s latest attraction.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, drive-in theaters are making a comeback for the summer season and the Eastern States Exposition will be hosting one of their very own. The West Springfield Drive-In is located in the Gate 9 parking area at the Eastern States Exposition (875 Memorial Ave, West Springfield, Massachusetts, 01089) with two screens showing family favorites and new releases.
Tickets and Showtimes
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings for a double feature showing. The first movie starts around 7:45 p.m. and the second movie begins at approximately 10:00 p.m. The current line-up includes classics live Grease, Back to the Future, and Jurassic park, along with new box office hits like A Quiet Place: Part II. Pricing
Pricing is $30 per car, which is hard to beat for a double feature! You can also opt for a single feature at $27 per carload if two movies is a stretch. There is a $6 charge per passenger for vehicles with over six people.
The drive-in highly recommends purchasing your tickets online and in advance. Tickets purchased at the gate are slightly more expensive, at $30 for single features and $33 for double features per car and availability is not guaranteed.
What should I bring?
Chairs, blankets, radios, and games are allowed but only directly in front of your car, between your car and the screen. While the grounds are sprayed regularly for mosquitos they do recommend you bring bug spray just in case.
