Looking for some family fun this month? Here are some local events coming up in our community!

Taste of the Valley

Thursday, August 10 at 4 PM to Sunday, August 13 at 6 PM Apart from a diverse selection of food choices from local vendors, the weekend is also highlighted by family friendly entertainment and activities. The Taste, organized by the West Springfield Rotary Club is well known for its live musical entertainment, featuring local acts. They also have a midway of rides and games for kids & teens, animal rides and a petting zoo. Check the Taste website www.westsidetaste.com for updates.

Wheels and Waffles

Saturday, August 19 from 8 to 10 AM Cruise down to Eastern States Exposition for Wheels & Waffles! Cars of any year, make and model are welcome! Show cars should enter the grounds at Gate 1 and park along the Avenue of States. Wheels & Waffles is an extension of the Exposition’s Collector Car Experience, taking place Sunday, Sept. 24 at The Big E’s xfinity arena. Find out more on their Facebook event page.

Look Park Food Truck Festival

Saturday, August 19 from 12 to 6 PM Enjoy street eats from all over the Pioneer Valley and beyond at the 1st Annual Look Park Food Truck Festival! Whether you’re looking for a family friendly afternoon or a place to taste the best food trucks & carts in the Valley, the festival offers something for everyone! Jessy’s Run

Sunday, August 27th at 11 AM In honor of Jessica Sullivan, a Western Mass resident battling brain cancer, this 5K run and walk will raise funds for the D'Amour Center for Cancer Care at Baystate Medical Center. Four different registration options are available: run or walk only and run or walk with the Jessy's Fight benefit that day at 1pm at Nathan Bills in Springfield. All runners and walkers will receive a special Jessy's Run t-shirt, and the top 3 men and women will win prizes! They kindly ask that you wear purple- Jessy’s favorite color!
