Kelly Blue Book

Coming up on their hundred year anniversary, Kelley Blue Book has become one of the best-known names in the auto sales industry. And, with tools for both buyers and sellers, they’re now the go-to resource for both industry professionals and consumers—and, for many used car dealers, they're the leading expert in car pricing. Their website includes dozens of tools to help you research, price, and shop for cars. Unique search features allow you to compare different cars side by side, find cars for sale in your area, and make a well-informed decision with data and metrics, including fair purchase price and an estimated “5-year cost to own.”

Car Gurus

Though technically a listings site, cargurus.com has become a rising star in the pricing world. Their site is designed as more of a community than a marketplace, allowing users to shop, list, research, or just share information about cars. With the goal of “making the online car shopping experience more transparent,” their pricing is driven solely by data. Unlike other car listing sites, their search results are based on real-time "Instant Market Value," which gathers data from your local area to calculate the fair price for a vehicle in your specific market (theoretically).

National Automobile Dealers Association

The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) represents the interest of new car and truck dealers to the public, the media, Congress, and vehicle manufacturers. But, they also have pricing tools and information, including a database with values and auction data for lenders and dealers (as well as insurance, government, and other automotive professionals). The consumer side of their site provides both current and historical values for new and used cars, plus motorcycles, RVs, boats, and classic cars. Their advanced search tools can help you get more desirable results, with CarFax and dealership ratings available on most every result.
